Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior surveying experience
- excellent communication skills
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
- ability to carry survey equipment and supplies
- must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening
- valid driver's license
- proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with health, safety, drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Job Qualifications

- competent self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening, including a valid driver's license
- proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Job Duties
- Supervise survey crew (1-2 staff crews)
- keep accurate, organized and complete field notes
- communicate with office staff on daily basis
- operate and maintain robotic instrument, total stations, sdata collector, GPS (fast static, RTK and VRS), digital levels
- use and obtain historical data from property/utility records, deeds, land/property titles, structural plans, and other matrices for land surveying activities
- follow state-specific standards of practice to provide professional survey assistance that accounts for accurate survey data and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specifications
- assist with writing surveying reports summarizing site inspection and survey findings and conclusions
- generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using photographs, sketches, calculations, software, spreadsheets, technical drawings, 2D/3D illustrations, and reports
- work collaboratively with other professionals, engineers, scientists, project control, and technicians on assigned survey tasks
- perform weekly instruments calibrations in order to maintain their accuracy
- ensure that both you and your crews comply daily with WSP and client specific safety guidelines and provide required safety documentation and records
- engage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project survey activities
- remain current in latest survey knowledge, techniques, and practices
- exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
