Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous restaurant serving experience preferred
  • ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor
  • strong communication skills
  • basic math skills for handling transactions
  • availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand and walk throughout the entire shift
  • ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • completion of Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification
  • legal eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
  • can reach, bend, stoop frequently
  • able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
  • ability to speak, read and write English
  • ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
  • complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
  • complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes

Job Duties

  • Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
  • be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
  • accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
  • retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
  • ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
  • collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
  • perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
  • restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests
