Job Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent
- Three to five years of successful experience in hospital food service management
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Basic management skills

- Ability to make decisions
- Sanitation certification
Job Duties
- Develop and administer departmental budget
- Initiate and approve equipment and supply purchases
- Analyze monthly financial summaries for accuracy and report to Support Services Director
- Compile benchmarking reports
- Recommend and implement policies and procedures
- Manage sanitation and safety compliance
- Approve vendors and manage procurement
- Compile meal cost reports for charge-back
- Complete and authorize invoice payments and purchase orders
- Work with Facilities and maintenance to ensure equipment operability
- Send and compile patient satisfaction surveys
- Troubleshoot departmental issues
- Develop and revise patient and cafeteria menus
- Manage recruitment, staffing, and development of department staff
- Oversee coordinators and monitor food service aides and production staff
- Approve coaching, counseling, and performance reviews
- Implement quality management and assessment activities
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Participate in hospital and department committees
- Monitor staff training and certification
- Manage catering and special function services
- Cost out special functions for proper billing
