Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two years of supervisory experience in food service or related field
  • ability to work full time with a 40-hour weekly schedule
  • strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • attention to detail
  • ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams
  • familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
  • capacity to handle disciplinary actions and performance evaluations
  • willingness to participate in training and staff development

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two years of supervisory experience in food service or related field
  • knowledge of food service operations and regulatory requirements
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to manage staffing and scheduling
  • experience with quality control and assurance
  • proficient in ordering and inventory management
  • ability to handle disciplinary actions and conduct performance evaluations

Job Duties

  • Interviews, hires, orients and coordinates training of new employees
  • plans work schedules and ensures adequate daily staffing for areas of responsibility
  • handles time reporting and associated record keeping
  • recognizes employees
  • evaluates performance
  • performs disciplinary action
  • supervises food inventorying, ordering, receiving, storage and distribution, hot and cold food production, ingredient control, diet office, patient tray assemble and delivery, patient snack and unit food stock assembly and delivery, ware washing, and kitchen sanitation
  • forecasts and orders food and supplies from external purveyors for patient and cafeteria menus using manual and computer systems
  • participates in collecting quality control and quality assurance data to meet regulatory standards
  • coordinates maintenance of food service equipment
  • conducts routine operational meetings with employees
  • schedules and conducts in-service programs and monthly training classes
  • handles patient food-service related problems
  • maintains security of food products and hospital property
  • assists in guiding dietetic students
  • performs other duties as assigned
