Job Requirements

  • valid driver’s license
  • reliable transportation
  • hoyer lift experience
  • ability to work overnight shifts including awake and asleep
  • ability to solve complex problems independently
  • familiarity with community services and independent living philosophy
  • ability to empathize with people with disabilities
  • willingness to report suspected abuse or neglect
  • ability to track time and report shifts
  • ability to follow assigned duties by supervisor

Job Qualifications

  • high school degree or equivalent experience serving people with disabilities
  • cpr or first aid certification
  • good communication skills
  • organizational skills
  • report writing skills
  • experience in home support services preferred

Job Duties

  • assisting consumer with activities of daily living tasks including cleaning and laundry
  • administering and assisting with daily medications
  • meal preparation and cooking according to consumer preferences and budget
  • shopping for household supplies
  • using and managing adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts, motorized wheelchairs, adjustable beds, and automatic door openers
  • reporting suspected incidents of abuse or neglect to the Disabled Person Protection Commission
  • maintaining communication logs and completing objective report writing
  • supporting the mission and objectives of Tempus Unlimited
