Job Requirements
- valid driver’s license
- reliable transportation
- hoyer lift experience
- ability to work overnight shifts including awake and asleep
- ability to solve complex problems independently
- familiarity with community services and independent living philosophy
- ability to empathize with people with disabilities
- willingness to report suspected abuse or neglect
- ability to track time and report shifts
- ability to follow assigned duties by supervisor
Job Qualifications
- high school degree or equivalent experience serving people with disabilities
- cpr or first aid certification
- good communication skills
- organizational skills
- report writing skills
- experience in home support services preferred
Job Duties
- assisting consumer with activities of daily living tasks including cleaning and laundry
- administering and assisting with daily medications
- meal preparation and cooking according to consumer preferences and budget
- shopping for household supplies
- using and managing adaptive equipment such as hoyer lifts, motorized wheelchairs, adjustable beds, and automatic door openers
- reporting suspected incidents of abuse or neglect to the Disabled Person Protection Commission
- maintaining communication logs and completing objective report writing
- supporting the mission and objectives of Tempus Unlimited
