Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, stoop, and stretch
- Must know how to use common cleaning tools such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Work safely and be mindful of safety for others
- Interact positively with coworkers and patients
- Full-time availability for rotating day shifts from 6:30am to 3:30pm
- Must pass background check and health screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services is advantageous
- Knowledge of cleaning practices and infection control
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
Job Duties
- Clean all patient and non-patient areas of the hospital
- Dust, mop, spot clean, and disinfect fixtures and furnishings
- Vacuum and spot-clean mats and carpets
- Empty, clean, and re-line waste baskets
- Transport regular and contaminated waste/linen to designated areas
- Wash and disinfect beds and cribs at discharge and prepare for new occupants
- Follow isolation cleaning procedures
- Clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls
- Notify supervisor when supplies are low
- Report work orders for repairs
- Maintain cleaning tools and equipment
- Operate floor maintenance machines
- Deliver clean linen throughout the facility
- Attend in-service, meetings, and educational programs
