Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and stretch
  • Must know how to use common cleaning tools such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Work safely and be mindful of safety for others
  • Interact positively with coworkers and patients
  • Full-time availability for rotating day shifts from 6:30am to 3:30pm
  • Must pass background check and health screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or environmental services is advantageous
  • Knowledge of cleaning practices and infection control
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Job Duties

  • Clean all patient and non-patient areas of the hospital
  • Dust, mop, spot clean, and disinfect fixtures and furnishings
  • Vacuum and spot-clean mats and carpets
  • Empty, clean, and re-line waste baskets
  • Transport regular and contaminated waste/linen to designated areas
  • Wash and disinfect beds and cribs at discharge and prepare for new occupants
  • Follow isolation cleaning procedures
  • Clean and disinfect bathroom fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, and walls
  • Notify supervisor when supplies are low
  • Report work orders for repairs
  • Maintain cleaning tools and equipment
  • Operate floor maintenance machines
  • Deliver clean linen throughout the facility
  • Attend in-service, meetings, and educational programs
