Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field
  • customs broker license or equivalent certification
  • experience applying 19 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) for import processes
  • experience utilizing Harmonized Tariff Schedule US (HTSUS) and supporting publications
  • familiarity with partner agency requirements and completing specified forms
  • knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and publications
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • experience with SAP/GTS
  • understanding of freight forwarding industry
  • understanding of dangerous goods requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field
  • customs broker license or equivalent certification
  • demonstrated ability to apply 19 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) for import processes
  • demonstrated ability to correctly utilize Harmonized Tariff Schedule US (HTSUS) and supporting publications
  • demonstrated familiarity with partner agency requirements and completing specified forms
  • demonstrated familiarity with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and CBP-approved additional publications
  • experience applying International Traffic in Arms (ITAR) license and exemption requirements to import transactions
  • experience with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) duty free entry process
  • experience identifying challenges and working collaboratively with adjacent or upstream working groups to improve or resolve
  • experience navigating competing priorities
  • experience utilizing SAP/GTS
  • understanding of freight forwarding industry
  • understanding of dangerous goods requirements
  • ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse teams
  • ability to maintain professional, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • experience utilizing Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams

Job Duties

  • Accurately interpret U.S. import and partner government agency regulations and requirements
  • assess products and scenarios for value, country of origin, classification, and partner agency applicability, including ATF, ITAR, FDA, EPA, DCMA
  • provide clear and accurate direction to brokers for processing import transactions
  • respond to internal inquiries relating to status of importing goods
  • work collaboratively with various teams to support internal compliance initiatives
