Job Description

The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at Navy Installations Command (CNIC) on Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi, TX, is a key provider of community recreation programs and services designed to support the well-being and quality of life of Navy service members, their families, and the greater community. Job Requirements

  • Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • Selectee must be suitable for federal employment
  • May be required to complete a probationary period
  • Participation in direct deposit pay program required

  • Must have a favorable background check

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, marketing, business, or a closely related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted
  • Specialized experience related to customer service and activity-based functions
  • Knowledge of recreational programs and event planning
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with program planning and leadership
  • Ability to create and sustain partnerships

Job Duties

  • Manage and administer a comprehensive year-round recreation program in the ITT office
  • Plan, promote, and implement various MWR Community Recreation programs and activities
  • Develop and maintain partnerships through MWR agreements
  • Maintain clear and accurate databases for program operations
  • Represent the MWR department in front of both small and large groups
  • Devise and implement leisure and social recreation programs that engage diverse participant demographics
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
