Job Description
The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at Navy Installations Command (CNIC) on Naval Air Station (NAS) Corpus Christi, TX, is a key provider of community recreation programs and services designed to support the well-being and quality of life of Navy service members, their families, and the greater community. Job Requirements
- Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
- Selectee must be suitable for federal employment
- May be required to complete a probationary period
- Participation in direct deposit pay program required
- Social Security Card required
- Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-VERIFY) check
- Must have a favorable background check
- Knowledge of federal employment eligibility requirements
- Ability to perform duties independently
- Must communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in recreation, marketing, business, or a closely related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted
- Specialized experience related to customer service and activity-based functions
- Knowledge of recreational programs and event planning
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience with program planning and leadership
- Ability to create and sustain partnerships
Job Duties
- Manage and administer a comprehensive year-round recreation program in the ITT office
- Plan, promote, and implement various MWR Community Recreation programs and activities
- Develop and maintain partnerships through MWR agreements
- Maintain clear and accurate databases for program operations
- Represent the MWR department in front of both small and large groups
- Devise and implement leisure and social recreation programs that engage diverse participant demographics
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
