Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary work experience in sit-down restaurant or catering operations that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to manage and supervise a food service program
  • experience as a sous chef is highly preferred
  • successful completion of an accredited culinary program may be substituted for experience
  • resumes must be two pages or less

Job Duties

  • Plan and manage the day-to-day operation of a food service program where sit-down restaurant dining and catering are regular and substantial components
  • develop daily, catering, and specialty menus and forecast required tools, equipment, food items, and supplies
  • prepare and/or oversee the preparation of menu items involving standard to moderately complex and innovative cooking methods
  • conduct regular inspections and evaluations to ensure safety, proper food storage, kitchen sanitation, and operational efficiency
  • control pricing, food and supply ordering, storage, and issuance, and food production methods and techniques
  • direct subordinates in all phases of service delivery including performance management, training and development, employee recognition, and conflict resolution
