Job Requirements
- US citizenship
- selective service registration for males born after 12/31/1959
- submission of SF50
- FAA Form 3330-43 (rating of AT experience) required
- background investigation may be required
- probationary period may be applicable
- compliance with financial disclosure requirements
- ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
- understanding of FAA managerial workforce planning selection factors
- meet all qualifications by closing date
- adherence to federal employment policies and security clearance prerequisites
Job Qualifications
- Must possess specialized air traffic experience with progressively responsible duties in military or civilian ATC facilities
- experience equivalent to holding FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher for at least one year
- or facility rated or area certified for at least one year in an ATS facility
- or held an MSS position for at least one year in an ATS facility
- ability to lead and manage technical teams
- knowledge of federal regulations and air traffic control operations
- effective communication and leadership skills
- ability to handle administrative and personnel matters
- experience resolving grievances and disciplinary issues
Job Duties
- Serve as an air traffic manager in an ATC-6 terminal facility
- direct a highly technical workforce including operational and support personnel
- continuously review work processes to ensure mission success and customer satisfaction
- provide training, coaching, and guidance to subordinates
- plan and assign work, set priorities, approve leave and schedules
- evaluate subordinate performance and provide feedback
- resolve employee grievances and complaints
- enforce disciplinary actions
- recommend and approve selections, transfers, awards, and bonuses
- approve facility expenses including overtime and equipment
- identify and arrange developmental and training needs
- communicate and reinforce EEO policies
- support labor management partnership
- liaise with military, civilian aviation managers, industry representatives, unions, government entities, professional organizations, and contractors
- report to general manager or assistant general manager
