Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Specialized experience as defined by FAA guidelines
  • At least 1 year of experience in specified FAA positions
  • Capability to provide references with contact information for verification
  • Compliance with FAA operational standards
  • Ability to demonstrate possession of leadership and management dimensions
  • Previous experience at ATS facilities
  • Ability to participate in managerial selection process

Job Qualifications

  • Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year
  • Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year at an ATS facility
  • Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year in an ATS facility
  • Operational experience at Level 11 or 12 Air Traffic Control Tower preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities
  • Ability to provide narrative responses to managerial selection factors

Job Duties

  • Plan and direct operations within delegated areas of responsibility
  • Provide first line supervision to a team of Developmental and Certified Professional Controllers
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and procedures
  • Optimize operational efficiency and safety at terminal or en route facilities
  • Support professional development of air traffic controllers
  • Act as liaison between higher management and controller workforce
  • Oversee daily air traffic control operations
