Job Requirements

  • specialized experience in FAA regional or headquarters air traffic positions
  • minimum one year at FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above position or equivalent facility rating or MSS position
  • ability to meet managerial selection factors criteria
  • possession of relevant leadership and management experience
  • ability to provide references verifying leadership skills
  • willingness to work in terminal or en route air traffic control environment
  • employment type categorized as other

Job Qualifications

  • must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least one year
  • or must have been facility rated or area certified for at least one year at an ATS facility
  • or must have held an MSS position for at least one year in an ATS facility
  • preference for operational experience at level 11 or 12 air traffic control tower
  • demonstrated leadership and management capability
  • ability to provide narrative responses on managerial selection factors

Job Duties

  • plan and direct operations within delegated areas of responsibility
  • provide first line supervision to a team of developmental and certified professional controllers
  • ensure safe and efficient air traffic management
  • coordinate training and mentoring of developmental controllers
  • maintain compliance with FAA operational standards
  • manage workload and resource allocation under dynamic conditions
  • liaise with other departments and agencies for operational alignment
