Job Requirements

  • US citizenship required
  • Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Must submit an SF50 form
  • Education cannot be substituted for experience
  • May be subject to background investigation
  • One-year probationary period may be required
  • May be required to file financial disclosure statement within 30 days of entry on duty
  • Must meet security clearance requirements
  • This is not a bargaining unit position

Job Qualifications

  • Must have held a FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters positions for at least 1 year
  • OR must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year at an Air Traffic Services facility
  • OR must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year in an Air Traffic Services facility
  • Must have held an MSS-2 or above position for a minimum of 1 year
  • Must provide explanation of possession of FAA Managerial Workforce Planning Selection Factors Dimensions 1-4
  • Must meet qualifications by the closing date of the announcement

Job Duties

  • Directs a highly technical workforce providing air traffic control services and tactical and strategic support
  • Provides training, coaching and guidance to subordinates and facilitates team building
  • Integrates support resources with operational needs to maintain effective air traffic control service
  • Assigns and reviews work, plans work, sets priorities and schedules
  • Evaluates work performance of subordinates ensuring equity of performance standards
  • Makes decisions on work problems, resolves grievances and employee complaints, effects disciplinary actions
  • Communicates and reinforces diversity and EEO policies and programs, participates in labor-management partnership
  • Meets and maintains frequent contacts with internal and external customers including management, labor representatives and the aviation industry
