Job Description

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is a pivotal agency responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of air traffic within the United States airspace. Job Requirements

  • Specialized experience with FAA air traffic system
  • Experience in FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher positions
  • Facility rating or area certification at ATS facilities
  • Minimum of 1 year in a relevant FAA position
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and air traffic management procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least 1 year
  • Must have been facility rated or area certified for at least 1 year at an ATS facility
  • Facility rating or area certification at upgraded ATS facilities considered as meeting qualifications
  • Must have held a MSS position for at least 1 year in an ATS facility
  • Candidates applying for MSS positions must meet career level qualifications as per MSS chart

Job Duties

  • Plan and direct all activities at the Level 6 terminal facility
  • Supervise and coordinate air traffic controllers and support staff
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize air traffic flow
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and facility protocols
  • Manage workforce performance and training programs
  • Coordinate with regional and headquarters offices on operational matters
  • Serve as the primary contact for emergency and escalated operational issues
