Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in event management, parks and recreation or public administration or equivalent education and experience
- possession of an appropriate and valid driver's license
- must maintain an insurable driving record
- three years' experience in event management, parks and recreation or related fields
- supervisory experience preferred
- ability to work in extreme environmental conditions
- ability to stand and walk excessively
- ability to reach, bend, stoop and climb
- ability to identify and distinguish colors
- ability to make and receive phone calls
- ability to speak to individuals or groups for extended periods
- ability to operate office equipment such as copy machine, fax machine, and personal computer
- ability to operate city vehicles including cars, trucks and golf carts
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in event management, parks and recreation or public administration or equivalent education and experience

Job Duties
- Supervises Farmstead entrance to include guest services, ticketing, memberships, and front of house operations
- recruits and develops part-time and full-time employees to ensure effective operations
- coordinates with Farmstead personnel to plan, promote and administer City-sponsored Farmstead special events
- coordinates with Friends of the Farmstead and Arts and Recreation Foundation of Overland Park regarding sponsorship, fundraising, and member programs
- represents the City at Friends of the Farmstead fundraising committee meetings and events
- plans, develops and coordinates marketing plans for events and activities at the Farmstead in coordination with the ARFOP Communications and City Communications teams
- creates and maintains budgets, assists in grant writing and prepares annual reports for Friends of the Farmstead
- manages group reservations for events including birthday parties, corporate gatherings, and school trips
- performs other duties as assigned
- works necessary days and hours to perform assigned responsibilities
- maintains punctuality and timeliness in all performance requirements
