Job Requirements

  • must have at least three years of food and beverage experience
  • valid driver’s license with no traffic violations in the last three years
  • prior supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to work days nights weekends and holidays
  • physical capability to stand for long periods and carry push or pull up to 40 pounds occasionally
  • willingness to be exposed to extreme non-weather related temperatures
  • strong work ethic and professional demeanor
  • ability to maintain high visibility and supervise staff
  • commitment to follow state and local laws for alcohol service

Job Qualifications

  • three years of food and beverage experience
  • prior supervisory experience in food and beverage preferred
  • strong knowledge of wine service and etiquette
  • understanding of food service operations and cost control
  • experience in high-end or luxury resort or club environment highly desirable
  • valid driver’s license with no traffic violations in the last three years
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • passion for delivering exceptional member experiences
  • leadership capability and team player attitude

Job Duties

  • supervise the staff on the floor when needed including all outlets and scheduled services or events
  • maintain high visibility in the dining room to receive members and guests ensuring prompt efficient and knowledgeable service
  • inspect clubhouse and breeze walks daily before opening and at closing to identify maintenance or clean-up needs
  • complete all opening and closing duties for the day and for all team members in your area
  • assist clubhouse manager with training and developing dining staff through ongoing education including conducting staff wine tastings
  • pair and suggest wines that complement menu items aligning with preferences and budget
  • answer guest questions or concerns regarding origin vintage and style of wines
  • present and serve wine including decanting older red wines
  • educate members and staff on proper wine drinking and enjoyment
  • collaborate with chef de cuisine to create coordinated wine and food pairings providing world-class experience
  • work with clubhouse manager to design and implement wine promotions and incentive programs
  • create diverse wine menu at various price points
  • input new wine items in POS system communicating with accounting and purchasing departments
  • cultivate positive relationships with distributors and vendors
  • properly store wine and manage cellar inventory notifying engineering of faults
  • lead dining room staff promoting food and wine sales potential via suggestive selling
  • promote all food and beverage special events with concierge
  • follow state and local alcohol service laws responsibly
  • serve members in accordance with Desert Mountain standards
  • display hospitality and professionalism
  • host and attend wine-tasting events
  • stay informed of culinary wine and spirits trends
  • maintain standard operating procedures related to wine and fine dining
  • collaborate with wine retail director to enhance wine sales
  • participate in wine dinners bringing fresh ideas
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
