Job Requirements

  • Ability to work on feet for an extended period
  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff
  • Good judgment and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Prior experience in housekeeping or a related field
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to adhere to health and safety standards
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in a similar housekeeping position desirable
  • Engaging and caring personality
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
  • Ability to move, traverse, and position self to reach corners on floors and high places
  • Ability to observe conditions, detect odors
  • Ability to position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
  • Ability to operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
  • Ability to lift, carry and position loads of at least 25 lbs

Job Duties

  • Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
  • Work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort hotel cleanliness
  • Coordinate the day's workflow and distribution of duties
  • Inspect guest rooms following highest quality standards
  • Hold department employees accountable for the highest quality standards
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure that standards of cleanliness are maintained
  • Assist with performing inventory of linen and supplies
  • Assist in completion of performance evaluations
  • Use judgment and experience to distribute work and assign rooms and duties to staff
  • Coordinate activities with Front Desk Supervisor and staff
  • Report maintenance needs accordingly
  • Ensure employees are using handling cleaning chemicals safely
  • Find coverage for callouts or when house counts increase
  • Perform other related duties as requested by management
