Job Requirements
- Ability to work on feet for an extended period
- Ability to supervise and motivate staff
- Good judgment and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Prior experience in housekeeping or a related field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to adhere to health and safety standards
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- 6 months experience in a similar housekeeping position desirable
- Engaging and caring personality
- Time management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
- Ability to move, traverse, and position self to reach corners on floors and high places
- Ability to observe conditions, detect odors
- Ability to position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
- Ability to operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
- Ability to lift, carry and position loads of at least 25 lbs
Job Duties
- Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
- Work as a team to accomplish the goal of resort hotel cleanliness
- Coordinate the day's workflow and distribution of duties
- Inspect guest rooms following highest quality standards
- Hold department employees accountable for the highest quality standards
- Supervise and train staff to ensure that standards of cleanliness are maintained
- Assist with performing inventory of linen and supplies
- Assist in completion of performance evaluations
- Use judgment and experience to distribute work and assign rooms and duties to staff
- Coordinate activities with Front Desk Supervisor and staff
- Report maintenance needs accordingly
- Ensure employees are using handling cleaning chemicals safely
- Find coverage for callouts or when house counts increase
- Perform other related duties as requested by management
