Job Requirements

  • Resident of the state of North Carolina
  • No previous Supervisor Ramp position interview at RDU within last 12 months
  • U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Must maintain well-groomed appearance per company standards
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must comply with company attendance standards
  • Ability to perform work duties in office and limited space workstation for extended periods
  • Ability to perform duties with potential exposure to noise, vibrations, outdoor and inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and move items of 70 pounds regularly and repetitively lift 40 to 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of airline operations
  • Skilled in communication and leadership
  • Knowledge of applicable collective bargaining agreements
  • Ability to obtain SIDA badge and meet local airport requirements
  • Current valid driver’s license issued in the United States
  • Ability to obtain GSC qualification and comply with DOT drug and alcohol testing program
  • May be required to obtain Customs’ Seal and meet international flight requirements
  • Skilled in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to recognize and address safety and performance concerns
  • Knowledge of business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resources

Job Duties

  • Model the Southwest Way by guiding and leading team members using Southwest Airlines talent management practices to coach, develop, and engage employees
  • Adhere to company values and competencies to foster a culture of inclusion, recognition, and support of a safe work environment
  • Invest in leadership and self-growth through participating in continuous learning and development
  • Actively coordinate with all departments to maintain the station's on-time performance, employee morale, and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and guide ground support performance to ensure requirements are met
  • Ensure all equipment including ground support equipment (GSE) is maintained and available for the operation
  • Oversee day-to-day airport operations to create a safe, secure, and legally compliant service-conscious environment
  • Drive performance processes by forecasting operational situations, monitoring and achieving results against key metrics, and holding responsible parties accountable for results
  • Perform administrative duties daily, such as building and closing shift bids, daily work assignments, daily payroll, and attendance reports
  • Assure proper administration of labor contracts or agreements emphasizing minimal labor disputes
