Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field preferred
  • Valid Oklahoma Food Handler’s permit
  • Minimum four years culinary experience
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience
  • Ability to estimate food quantities
  • Knowledge of institutional equipment
  • Ability to maintain high food preparation standards
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Ability to work with healthcare professionals and management

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree or bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related food service field preferred
  • Valid Oklahoma Food Handler’s permit
  • Culinary arts certification preferred
  • Minimum four years culinary food experience
  • Minimum two years supervisory experience
  • Ability to estimate food quantities accurately
  • Knowledge of institutional food production equipment and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates a high standard of food preparation
  • Monitors staff to ensure production of quality food products and provides coaching when necessary
  • Produces food products timely while following standardized recipes
  • Develops and tests new standardized recipes with accurate measurements
  • Uses and maintains equipment properly while ensuring staff follow safety standards
  • Maintains sanitary conditions of work area and equipment in compliance with health department standards
  • Coordinates menu planning with registered dietitians for specialized programs
  • Schedules, trains, monitors, and evaluates staff in a positive manner
  • Ensures accuracy and security of cash handling including reconciliation and deposits
  • Identifies and addresses productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction issues
