Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of related experience in transportation, logistics, food service distribution, or airline catering preferred
  • strong problem-solving and leadership skills

  • ability to influence across airside, production, and airline partners
  • ability to develop and lead others to achieve productivity goals
  • working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, FDA, USDA, EPA, and HACCP regulations
  • practical experience with DOT/FMCSA compliance including HOS, DVIR, and driver qualification files
  • familiarity with airport security and SIDA/TSA procedures
  • excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
  • experience with dispatch/TMS systems, handhelds/scanners, and digital logs preferred
  • experience supervising high-lift catering trucks and ramp operations preferred
  • CDL-B license or prior CDL supervisory experience a plus
  • experience in unionized environments, scheduling, and attendance management preferred
  • bilingual skills (Spanish/English) beneficial for workforce communication.

Job Duties

  • Organize and staff the department to meet flight service and delivery timelines across all shifts
  • lead daily shift briefings including dispatch plan, safety topics, gate changes, and IROPs ensuring clear handoffs
  • dispatch and route planning aligning vehicle assignments to flight schedules and responding to real-time changes such as gate or stand swaps, delays, and diversions
  • ensure fleet readiness by overseeing pre and post-trip inspections, coordinating preventive maintenance
  • verify load accuracy and security including cart counts, galley configurations, seal integrity, and maintaining temperature control logs
  • manage airside operations ensuring safe positioning, marshalling, chocking, jetbridge clearance, and compliance with airport AOA driving rules
  • monitor on-time service achieving OTD/OTP targets and implement corrective actions
  • schedule and control staffing to meet labor productivity and overtime targets
  • ensure compliance with all government regulatory standards including DOT/FMCSA, OSHA, FDA/USDA/HACCP/GMP, EPA, and TSA security protocols
  • document and improve transportation processes and SOPs, close audit or incident review gaps
  • monitor safety compliance and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for accidents and incidents
  • provide leadership by guiding, motivating and developing drivers, dispatchers, and transportation coordinators
  • promote company values and management principles through communication, recognition, and accountability
  • manage productivity hours and costs and initiate corrective actions for deviations such as overtime, idle time, or out-of-route incidents
  • participate and support company initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean/5S, Employee Safety, and Production Systems
  • coordinate cross-functionally with Production, Warehouse, Flight Assembly, QA, Maintenance, Airline OCC/Ramp/Gate teams, and Customer Service
  • ensure accurate and timely documentation including dispatch logs, DVIRs, temperature logs, security seals, and incident reports
  • perform other duties as assigned to support flight service, customer needs, and operational continuity.
