Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to document procedures, express processes in writing and flow chart processes
  • 2 years logistics experience, preferred
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce, preferred
  • Experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, preferred
  • Assigned to a distribution environment
  • Occasionally lifts 50-75 pounds and may stand up to 75% of the shift
  • Able to assist direct reports
  • Uses computer terminal frequently
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE such as safety glasses

Job Duties

  • Provide guidance, support, direction, and leadership through positive interactions with all personnel during daily operations
  • Communicate to the team production/shipping requirements to be met through efficient manpower utilization and KPI development
  • Assist in the training and instruction of employees to perform work assignments safely and productively
  • Control department expenses to achieve productivity goals
  • Pursue opportunities to improve speed and quality through operations to support customer service
  • Maintain good employee relations through counseling and proper application of labor relations policies
  • Enforce health, environmental and safety standards, work practices, and housekeeping
