Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is preferred
- Knowledge of SAP
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to document procedures, express processes in writing and flow chart processes
- 2 years logistics experience, preferred
- Experience working with a unionized workforce, preferred
- Experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma, preferred
- Assigned to a distribution environment
- Occasionally lifts 50-75 pounds and may stand up to 75% of the shift
- Able to assist direct reports
- Uses computer terminal frequently
- Required to wear appropriate PPE such as safety glasses
Job Duties
- Provide guidance, support, direction, and leadership through positive interactions with all personnel during daily operations
- Communicate to the team production/shipping requirements to be met through efficient manpower utilization and KPI development
- Assist in the training and instruction of employees to perform work assignments safely and productively
- Control department expenses to achieve productivity goals
- Pursue opportunities to improve speed and quality through operations to support customer service
- Maintain good employee relations through counseling and proper application of labor relations policies
- Enforce health, environmental and safety standards, work practices, and housekeeping
