Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum one year food service industry experience
- completion of two weeks Mess Attendant Lead training
- ability to lift carry and stand for extended periods
- ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- effective communication skills in English
- certification from approved sanitation program
- Serve Safe or PIC certification within 90 days
- completion of state-required sexual harassment training within six months
- punctual and regular attendance
- compliance with infection control protocols and workplace safety standards
- ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds
- pass background investigation and provide facility access credentials
- return signed job description acknowledgement
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum one year experience in the food service industry
- completion of two weeks training as a Mess Attendant Lead
- ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- strong customer service skills
- physical ability to lift carry and stand for extended periods
- well-organized and self-directed
- knowledge of food safety procedures and certifications preferred
- ability to articulate information clearly to all organizational levels
- proficiency in reading safety documents and performing basic arithmetic operations
Job Duties
- Supervise staff engaged in serving meals cleaning dining rooms washing dishes cleaning dish washing and pot washing rooms cleaning restrooms removing trash and maintaining outside areas
- perform inspections of work assignments and inventories as scheduled
- conduct training and orientation for new employees in managers absence
- demonstrate proper techniques and instruct on safety equipment usage
- report behaviors or incidents detrimental to company relations and contract requirements
- maintain accurate daily logs and communicate incidents to Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager
- adhere to company rules safety procedures and policies and ensure punctual and regular attendance
- perform all other duties as assigned
