Job Requirements

  • 3 years of HR or airline operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree or additional experience in lieu of degree
  • Ability to be self-disciplined and work with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time
  • Ability to accept on-call rotation
  • Ability to become flight attendant qualified
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years of HR, airline operations or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or additional two years of equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Proficient in internal investigations principles, policies, and practices
  • Skilled in computer business applications including spreadsheets and databases
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and analytical
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing multiple cases or projects to resolution
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of inflight operations and aviation industry
  • Experience with union environments
  • Self-reliant and self-motivated
  • Ability to form strong partnerships with flight attendants and peers

Job Duties

  • Lead internal Flight Attendant investigations by gathering facts, creating investigative plans, interviewing witnesses and subjects, and preparing high-level investigative reports
  • Conduct prompt, equitable, and impartial administrative investigations into internal and external complaints, explain processes to parties involved, identify and interview parties, gather and assess relevant information, apply policies, and make findings and recommendations
  • Provide expertise regarding reporting, investigating, and other obligations to Inflight Base Leaders, HR, Legal, and Labor representatives
  • Log case data to ensure information is captured, recorded, and available for analysis
  • Demonstrate commitment to Alaska's flight attendants by supporting attendance, recognition programs, passport renewals, and simplifying processes
  • Ensure consistent application of company and contractual policies related to flight attendants in all domiciles
  • Coach and guide employees to maximize performance results and maintain a high-performance culture
  • Administer timely investigations involving work rule violations such as attendance, manuals, customer complaints, and crew conflicts
  • Formulate plans to conduct complete investigations within specified timeframes, including witness identification and evidence gathering
  • Develop and present investigative findings with comprehensive documentation
  • Prepare and participate with legal and labor departments in grievance and arbitration hearings
  • Partner with labor relations, HR, and legal to provide recommendations and corrective actions
  • Consult with medical relations to ensure compliance with ADA and employment leave regulations
  • Collaborate with inflight base managers to establish and meet performance metrics
  • Work with Inflight Training to support probationary flight attendants with clear expectations, ongoing feedback, and appraisals
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary
