Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • valid Texas driver’s license or military waiver or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • food manager’s certificate
  • food protection manager certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • five years of supervisory experience in large-scale food service
  • five years of purchasing experience
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • knowledge of local, state, and federal food service guidelines
  • ability to work flexible hours including mornings, nights, and weekends
  • first aid and CPR certification following employment
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work in physically demanding environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • minimum five years of large-scale food service supervisory experience
  • five years of purchasing experience

  • ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
  • leadership and team management skills
  • ability to operate motor vehicles safely
  • experience in cash handling
  • ability to manage budgets and financial records
  • ability to mediate personnel issues

Job Duties

  • Recruit, hire, train, manage, schedule, and direct kitchen and transportation employees
  • train employees to adhere to city policies and food handling procedures
  • oversee day-to-day kitchen food service operations including menu development and food presentation
  • manage procurement of kitchen-related products
  • approve and oversee invoices for payment
  • ensure food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety through inspections
  • oversee preparation, setup, and takedown of food service events
  • develop systems to prevent loss of invoices and products
  • create reports to track food costs, safety, and performance
  • collaborate with division manager to define services
  • prepare menus and food for division events
  • respond to public inquiries as per policies
  • operate motor vehicle for deliveries and events
  • maintain up-to-date operating manuals
  • perform other duties as assigned
