Job Requirements

  • associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • minimum one year of leadership experience required
  • knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs required
  • working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques required
  • ability to read, write and understand English
  • good interpersonal relations skills
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks
  • ability to work with others in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • ability to cope with physical and mental demands of a dynamic environment
  • ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • minimum one year of leadership experience
  • three to five years health care related experience preferred
  • ability to cope with physical and mental demands of a dynamic environment
  • ability to read, write and understand English
  • knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs
  • working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques
  • ability to prioritize tasks
  • good interpersonal relations skills
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work with others in a diplomatic and tactful manner
  • ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations
  • comprehends and utilizes good body mechanics
  • ability to plan, develop and teach training/in-service modules
  • ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • certification in appropriate field preferred (CHESP)

Job Duties

  • oversee day-to-day housekeeping operations
  • manage and evaluate employee performance
  • solve departmental problems using discretionary judgment
  • ensure compliance with regulations, laws, techniques and procedures
  • train and mentor housekeeping staff
  • ensure hospital areas are clean, healthy and welcoming
  • maintain high standards of cleanliness to support patient safety
