Job Requirements

  • Certification in appropriate field preferred (CHESP)
  • Ability to cope with the physical and mental demands of a dynamic environment
  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations
  • Comprehends and utilizes good body mechanics
  • Ability to work with others in a diplomatic and tactful manner

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum one year of leadership experience
  • Three to five years of health care related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, and techniques
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal relations skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner
  • Ability to plan, develop, and teach training modules

Job Duties

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department and employee performance
  • Exercise discretionary judgment in solving problems and working with employees
  • Use working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices of specific support services areas
  • Lead and mentor housekeeping staff to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards
  • Develop and teach training or in-service modules to staff
  • Maintain a safe and comfortable environment in patient rooms and public spaces
  • Ensure compliance with health care sanitation guidelines and standards
