Job Requirements
- Certification in appropriate field preferred (CHESP)
- Ability to cope with the physical and mental demands of a dynamic environment
- Ability to read, write and understand English
- Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs
- Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, and techniques
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations
- Comprehends and utilizes good body mechanics
- Ability to work with others in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum one year of leadership experience
- Three to five years of health care related experience preferred
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, and techniques
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal relations skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner
- Ability to plan, develop, and teach training modules
Job Duties
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department and employee performance
- Exercise discretionary judgment in solving problems and working with employees
- Use working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices of specific support services areas
- Lead and mentor housekeeping staff to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards
- Develop and teach training or in-service modules to staff
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment in patient rooms and public spaces
- Ensure compliance with health care sanitation guidelines and standards
