Job Requirements
- Two years of related work experience in warehouse, distribution, supply chain, transportation or similar environment
- Knowledge of Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, hazardous materials regulations and DOT rules
- Availability to work various shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Distribution or Logistics or four years of related work or military experience
- Two years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry
- Positive attitude with multitasking and team motivation abilities
- Exceptional leadership, communication and administrative skills
Job Duties
- Lead and supervise all aspects of freight operations
- Develop and implement strategic work procedures to meet department demands
- Evaluate, manage, assign and supervise workloads and tasks
- Supervise hourly staff and act as primary contact for workplace concerns
- Ensure production goals are met by managing tonnage, payroll and administrative functions
- Plan hourly employee schedules to meet operations goals and lower costs
- Enforce company, FMCSR, OSHA, CCMTA, NSC and DOT policies, rules, regulations, and laws
- Implement workplace policies and enforce compliance to optimize performance
- Ensure customer freight is processed, handled and delivered timely and damage free
- Coach and develop employees, conduct evaluations and issue corrective actions
- Direct team to consistently meet or exceed productivity goals
- Make recommendations regarding hiring, suspension and termination
- Develop and present action plans to improve load average and compliance
- Participate in internal safety and engagement committees
- Train employees on safety rules and processes
- Monitor and maintain organization within the shift
- Conduct daily staff meetings and communicate policies
- Inspect working conditions and direct corrections
- Provide suggestions for operations improvement
- Act as a champion of XPO values
- Minimize shipment rehandle by prioritizing loading techniques
