Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • three years of food and nutrition service experience
  • two years of supervisory experience in nutrition and food service
  • knowledge of food trends with focus on quality, sanitation, cost control, and presentation
  • knowledge and experience with therapeutic diet preparation
  • strong leadership and management skills
  • knowledge of applicable health and safety standards
  • effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • associate or college degree in nutrition, food service management, or related field preferred
  • bachelor's degree in nutrition, food service management, or related field preferred
  • certified dietary manager (CDM) preferred
  • three years of food and nutrition service experience required
  • two years of supervisory experience in nutrition and food service required
  • knowledge of food trends related to quality, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation
  • experience with therapeutic diet preparation
  • strong leadership, management, and mentoring skills
  • effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Plan and lead all aspects of food service activities and personnel
  • supervise food production and service ensuring meals are nutritious and appealing
  • review and update food service policies and procedures
  • implement and maintain quality and cost control procedures
  • ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • mentor and train food service staff
  • maintain professional proficiency and skills required for effective supervision
