Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a food service course from a community college or college/university with a major in Institutional Administration or Food Science and Human Nutrition
- Work experience in supervising food production for six months to one year may be considered in lieu of educational requirements
- Minimum six months experience in a hospital or comparable institution as a food service supervisor
- Availability to work various 8-hour shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a food service course with a major in Institutional Administration or Food Science and Human Nutrition
- Knowledge of sanitation, hygiene, quantity food preparation, supervisory techniques, estimating and purchasing food
- Experience in supervising food production
- Minimum six months experience as a food service supervisor in a hospital or comparable institution
Job Duties
- Supervise the food service activities in the preparation and service of food for patients, staff, and visitors
- Monitor food service system for conformance with standards in food production and service, sanitation, safety, and security
- Assist with teaching and training employees through orientation and inservices
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Coordinate work schedules and manage staff performance
