Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience in food service, restaurant management or related field
  • At least 2 years experience in food service, restaurant or therapeutic diets preferably in hospital or extended care facility
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and supervise food service operations
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to food safety and nutrition
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and promote a positive work environment

Job Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of food safety, nutrition and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to lead, train and motivate staff effectively
  • Skilled in coordinating multiple tasks and problem-solving
  • Understanding of healthcare environment and patient needs
  • Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and quality standards

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise activities for processing, preparation, storage and distribution of food to the patient tray line and cafeteria
  • Maintain awareness of customer needs and ensure food and nutrition services meet quality standards
  • Implement food service activities ensuring continuous operation and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Inspect dietary areas and equipment for compliance with sanitary and safety policies
  • Maintain departmental policies, procedures, standards and confidentiality of information
  • Coordinate, plan and supervise daily production and distribution activities with cafeteria and central tray sections
  • Plan work schedules, make assignments, set priorities and monitor workflow
  • Collaborate with department, hospital staff and visitors to promote customer satisfaction and resolve issues
  • Supervise, develop and motivate staff including orientation, training and performance evaluation
  • Participate in process redesign to improve service and staff productivity
  • Prepare and maintain records, reports and files for operational and compliance purposes
  • Attend training and participate in performance improvement initiatives
  • Model Regional One Health’s mission and values at all times
