Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum three years of experience in food service or a directly related field
- minimum two years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports
- minimum one year of experience with PC-based tools, Microsoft Office applications, web-based applications
- current food manager certification as listed under qualifications
- ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week
- able to work day shifts starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 3:30 PM
- available to work Monday through Sunday as scheduled
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to manage multiple priorities
- leadership and team-building capabilities
- knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to healthcare food service
- ability to respond effectively in crisis or emergency situations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum three years of experience in food service or a directly related field
- minimum two years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports
- minimum one year of experience with PC-based tools, Microsoft Office applications, web-based applications
- certification as International Certified Food Safety Manager from National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or equivalent food manager certification such as ServSafe Manager Certification or certifications from Always Food Safe, EduClasses, Responsible Training, AAA Food Handler, World Food Safety Organization, Trust20, My Food Service License, Learn 2 Serve, or State Food Safety

- maintains relationships with vendors to ensure they provide services consistent with vendor agreements, regulatory compliance standards
- monitors vendor metrics to ensure service delivery is compliant, safe, sanitary, and supports patient satisfaction
- supervises the team receiving, verification, and storing of delivery items
- manages inventory usage to ensure it is within established utilization levels
- ensures team is maintaining stock levels at food stations, in work areas, and updating inventory with out-of-stock items
- supervises labeling and storage of perishable items
- reviews loss and decay logs to develop the monthly procurement budget
- identifies and escalates the return of recalled or contaminated food
- communicates updates to patients and staff
- oversees team preparing menu and meal items according to standardized recipes and directions
- supports team members where needed
- ensures food is prepared safely according to food preparation standards
- serves as a resource to address issues related to patient meal trays and catering services
- activates workplans to maintain food supply and services during emergencies
- supervises team members interacting with customers and patients
- acts as first point of contact for service recovery issues
- schedules and plans unit work to support food service and delivery operations
- analyzes patient responses to quality control surveys
- submits relevant quality control reporting
- demonstrates thorough knowledge of quality control metrics
- guides efforts to reduce critical control points
- implements quality control initiatives
- prioritizes improvement recommendations for customer and patient services
