Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Servsafe Food Handlers Certification preferred
  • 2-3 years food service experience preferred
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to supervise and train assigned staff
  • ability to provide or arrange training
  • good records maintenance skills
  • ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
  • ability to plan work schedules and assign duties
  • knowledge of supplies, equipment and inventory control

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Estimate daily and weekly production and inventory food requirements
  • coordinate inventory needs with menu forecasts
  • prepare work schedules and assign personnel to meet production plans
  • inspect orders to ensure food meets quality standards for presentation, temperature, and portioning
  • instruct food service personnel in accepted standards
  • prepare and/or supervise the preparation of a wide range of dishes
  • maintain food production records, reports, and department files
  • order food items directly from suppliers and evaluate them for cost-effectiveness
