Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • knowledge of nutrition and methods for food cost effectiveness desired
  • valid food handler's permit required in the state of work or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment
  • valid driver license with an acceptable driving record

Job Duties

  • Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and food service activities of the department
  • assist in the development and implementation of new and revised policies and procedures affecting food services
  • plan the menu and provide appetizing, nutritious and realistically portioned meals in a clean, comfortable environment
  • conduct inspections of food service areas
  • ensure quality of production and food purchase requirements
  • maintain cost control to stay within budget limitations
  • assist in inventory control
  • review and audit all assigned areas regularly for contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students
  • prepare related reports
