Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent education/experience in food service, restaurant management or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in food service, restaurant or therapeutic diets preferably in hospital or extended care facility
  • Previous management experience preferred
  • Ability to work standing and walking for extended periods
  • Capability to lift, carry, push and pull materials
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to continuous training and education
  • Compliance with hospital and regulatory policies
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Apprises Director/Manager of Food Services of all activities and relevant changes in the internal/external market, threats and opportunities
  • Implements food service activities to ensure quality food processing, preparation, and distribution services to hospital staff, patients and visitors
  • Ensures continuous operation by maintaining food preparation and replenishment as per policies and regulatory requirements
  • Inspects dietary areas and equipment for compliance with instructions, regulatory, sanitary and safety standards
  • Maintains departmental policies, procedures, standards, and practices
  • Coordinates, plans, and supervises daily production and distribution activities with cafeteria and central tray sections
  • Plans work schedules, makes assignments, sets priorities, and redirects employees as needed
  • Monitors workflow and verifies task completion
  • Confers and collaborates with department, hospital staff, and visitors to promote patient/customer satisfaction and resolve issues
  • Supervises, develops and motivates food and nutrition staff, including assisting in selection, orientation, training, performance evaluation and corrective actions
  • Participates in redesigning food and nutrition processes to improve service and productivity
  • Provides training opportunities and supports continuous education
  • Maintains records, reports, and files for operational and compliance purposes
  • Models Regional One Health’s mission and values consistently
  • Participates in performance improvement initiatives and cross-functional team activities
