Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree with major studies in food and nutrition, dietetics, or food management
- or graduate of a dietetic technician training program approved by the American Dietetic Association
- or graduate of a dietetic assistant training program approved by the American Dietetic Association
- or graduate of a dietetic services training program approved by the Dietary Managers Association
- certified dietary manager credentialed by the Certifying Board of the Dietary Managers Association
- must obtain certification within 6 months if not already certified
- two years of experience as a Senior Food Service Worker with Alameda Health System
- or six months of experience as a Food Service Supervisor
- ServSafe certificate
- must maintain certification
- must have at least 6 hours of in-service training on California dietary service requirements
- ability to supervise and manage food service staff
- knowledge of sanitation and food safety regulations
- strong organizational and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- bachelor's degree with major studies in food and nutrition, dietetics, or food management and one year experience in the dietetic service of a licensed health facility
- or graduate of a dietetic technician training program approved by the American Dietetic Association
- or graduate of a dietetic assistant training program approved by the American Dietetic Association
- or graduate of a dietetic services training program approved by the Dietary Managers Association
- certified dietary manager credentialed by the Certifying Board of the Dietary Managers Association
- maintains certification and has at least 6 hours of in-service training on California dietary service requirements
- two years of experience as a Senior Food Service Worker with Alameda Health System
- or six months of experience as a Food Service Supervisor, preferably in a healthcare setting
- ServSafe certificate
Job Duties
- establishes and maintains quality assurance standards
- writes procedures and keeps procedural manuals up to date
- compiles data for reports and conducts quality assurance surveys and inspections
- develops corrective action plans
- monitors sanitation and conducts sanitation rounds
- standardizes recipes and tests new products
- consults with Food Service Management regarding personnel, procedures and operating systems
- participates in Food Service Management group rotating work schedule and attends hospital meetings
- supervises Senior Food Service Workers and Food Service Workers
- assigns work, evaluates performance and coordinates training
- supervises cleaning and packaging of utensils and dishes for special functions
- oversees preparation, packaging, and distribution of refreshments for patients and personnel at special functions
