Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in hospitality, restaurant or business management or related field
  • Five or more years of combined supervisory and food service experience
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and computer skills
  • Ability to make independent decisions based on data
  • Willingness to work flexible and rotating shifts
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Experience working with unionized staff preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in hospitality, restaurant or business management or equivalent supervisory and food service experience
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Well-developed analytical, technical, computer, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to make autonomous, data-driven decisions based on business operations and departmental strategy
  • Capacity to support all areas of Campus Dining including flexible and rotating work shifts

Job Duties

  • Inspire and motivate team members while maintaining accountability for their actions
  • Actively supervise dining center staff in performing daily duties
  • Ensure employees work efficiently and safety standards are upheld
  • Enforce department policies, union rules, and customer service standards
  • Provide continuous oversight with constant visibility and support for staff
  • Conduct necessary employee training
  • Create employee schedules according to union contract deadlines
  • Accurately submit payroll on time
  • Maintain product inventory and service levels
  • Conduct forecasting and ordering to support operations
  • Keep daily service records and input data into computerized systems
  • Monitor patron usage, labor, and food cost metrics
  • Address employee misconduct timely and document infractions
  • Collaborate with HR and Labor Relations for disciplinary actions and accommodations
  • Support other Campus Dining locations and Catering Services as needed
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues to achieve group objectives
