Job Requirements

  • GED or high school diploma
  • experience in supervisory role preferred
  • ability to work night shifts
  • availability for full-time 40 hours per week
  • ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and inspection
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • capacity to manage multiple priorities and staff assignments
  • adherence to hospital safety protocols
  • commitment to quality and regulatory compliance

Job Qualifications

  • GED or high school diploma
  • at least 3 years supervisory experience in healthcare, hotel, or service environment preferred
  • ability to manage and motivate staff
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • experience handling medical or biohazard waste
  • familiarity with safety and regulatory standards in environmental services
  • proficiency in scheduling and quality assurance practices

Job Duties

  • Oversees routine cleaning such as terminal cleaning, daily patient room/discharge, general/common areas, carpet care, dust/wet mopping, floor care, restrooms, and special projects
  • manages the collection and proper disposal of patient and biohazard trash
  • completes work assignments timely while maintaining departmental quality standards
  • ensures staff use appropriate chemicals and supplies according to policy
  • oversees and ensures cleaning of secured medication rooms safely and independently
  • dispatches housekeeping tasks efficiently using computerized paging system
  • monitors bed turnover status and adjusts staffing accordingly
  • records delays and completions accurately
  • manages cleaning and maintenance of equipment including carts and floor machines
  • ensures staff maintain clean and neat storage areas
  • assists management with special projects, new hire onboarding, training, inventory/equipment management, opening/closing department, schedule coverage, and room inspections
  • provides direction and adjusts staffing assignments as needed
  • completes daily assignment sheets
  • delegates workflow and ensures room setups
  • ensures regulated medical waste is handled per state regulations
  • performs quality assurance checks and walk-throughs
  • distributes and collects keys, equipment, and pagers
  • ensures service aides complete assigned duties
