Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • required certification(s) based on location
  • one year food service experience
  • ability to work required shifts including every other weekend and holiday
  • basic computer skills
  • physical ability to perform kitchen tasks
  • effective interpersonal skills
  • ability to adhere to safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • one year food service experience
  • supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
  • ability to manage kitchen staff and operations
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • experience with dietary software programs

Job Duties

  • Opens and closes kitchen
  • prepares posted amounts of food following standardized recipes and HACCP guidelines
  • reviews menus and adjusts amounts as necessary
  • completes sanitation assignments
  • responds to issues concerning spoiled or unpalatable food
  • ensures food supplies meet acceptable standards
  • monitors safe equipment usage and reports unsafe conditions
  • prepares, cooks and delivers function items
  • receives product from vendors and stores items following safety guidelines
  • completes inventory
  • ensures proper storage, labeling, and dating of food items
  • practices and enforces HACCP food production and handling principles
  • completes daily cooking, cooling and food temperature charts
  • supervises meal set up, service, and clean-up
  • monitors and instructs staff in policies and procedures
  • inspects kitchen and cafeteria for sanitation and safety standards
  • participates in policy development and disciplinary actions
  • orders supplies ensuring quality and proper storage
  • ensures daily duties are completed by staff
  • conducts in-service and orientation programs
  • troubleshoots dietary software issues
