Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or graduate of culinary school
  • 36 months experience in food services including 12 months in a supervisory role
  • working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office
  • demonstrated oral written communication skills in English
  • ability to work independently and as a team member
  • ability to follow lesson plans and speak in front of groups
  • excellent leadership skills
  • ServSafe Certification
  • sanitation certification may be required
  • physical endurance for fast-paced and demanding duties
  • ability to handle greasy dirty materials and walk on slippery floors
  • ability to lift up to 58 lbs and push pull up to 100 lbs
  • ability to stand walk for long periods and climb stairs
  • adaptability to kitchen environments from 8 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit
  • availability to work nights weekends and university closings
  • compliance with background and police records checks

Job Qualifications

  • Supervising training and evaluating assigned personnel
  • determining work priorities and planning schedules
  • assigning and reviewing work
  • maintaining a successful shift through problem solving
  • preparing food following recipes and portion control standards
  • utilizing kitchen utensils and heavy equipment safely
  • serving food courteously with proper portion control
  • loading and transporting food items safely and timely
  • washing sanitizing and storing kitchen tools and equipment
  • cleaning tables counters floors and work areas
  • assisting with special events and catering needs
  • supporting team members voluntarily as needed
