Job Requirements
- Five years of experience in culinary or kitchen management
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field minimally required
- Food Safety Manager Certification required within 90 days of employment
- Basic knowledge of dietetics
- Previous supervision experience of 12 or more staff members
- Ability to comply with TJC, HACCP, AHCA, and local, state, federal food safety regulations
- Strong leadership and team motivation skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Culinary Arts preferred
- Associate degree minimally required
- Food Safety Manager Certification required within 90 days of job entry
- Basic knowledge of dietetics required
- Previous supervision of 12 or more staff members
- Three to five years of progressive culinary or kitchen management experience preferred, especially in hospital, healthcare, or catering environments
Job Duties
- Direct daily food production and service operations throughout the hospital in compliance with TJC, HACCP, and AHCA standards
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws regarding food safety and quality
- Role model the values and culture of Baptist Health South Florida with a focus on quality, safety, service, knowledge, and diversity
- Motivate and maintain an engaged food services team
- Establish operating standards in collaboration with the Operations Manager/Director
- Implement quality improvements and communicate changes to the team
- Monitor food safety practices and address any non-compliance issues promptly
