Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience as a custodian, janitor or housekeeper preferred but not required
- Ability to stand, walk, push, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead and forward up to 100% of the time
- Ability to lift and carry 25lbs
- Ability to read cleaning instructions
- Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and their uses
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to adhere to uniform and punctuality standards
- Flexibility to work varied shifts
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job
Job Qualifications
- Hospital cleaning experience
- Supervisor experience
- Good understanding of cleaning principles
- Ability to train and motivate staff
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Bilingual is a plus
- Experience working in professional janitorial companies, office complexes, hotels, hospitals or schools is preferred
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Respectful and team-oriented attitude
Job Duties
- Train cleaners on ServiceMaster's standards, products, processes and procedures
- Oversee staff performance and ensure all assignments are completed according to set task schedules
- Train cleaners on task schedules specific to individual accounts
- Perform inspections and provide constructive performance feedback
- Assign shifts and make adjustments for call-offs or no-shows
- Respond to customer complaints and requests promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with safety and OSHA regulations
- Use proper PPE as required
- Open and lock facilities and manage security systems as needed
