Job Description

The City of Papillion is seeking a dedicated and experienced Facility Manager to oversee operations at the Sumtur Amphitheater, a key recreational and event venue in the community. The Sumtur Amphitheater is a vibrant outdoor facility designed to host a variety of events, including concerts, cultural festivals, and community gatherings. Job Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire
  • must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age at the time of hire
  • previous athletic or recreation facility experience preferred
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • must be able to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within a timeframe established by the employer
  • if deemed necessary, must be able to obtain Nebraska Pool Operator certification or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification within a timeframe established by the employer
  • must maintain all certifications as required

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license
  • at least 21 years of age
  • previous athletic or recreation facility experience preferred
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • ability to obtain Nebraska Pool Operator or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification if required
  • strong knowledge of computer software programs
  • ability to enforce policies, rules, and regulations
  • excellent customer service skills
  • strong work ethic and problem-solving abilities
  • effective communication skills in English
  • ability to manage stressful situations and frequent interruptions
  • excellent interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Supervise subordinate employees through activities including scheduling work, assigning duties, monitoring performance, and recommending disciplinary actions
  • assist the Recreation Coordinator in preparing facilities for opening and closing, maintenance, cleaning, and equipment inspection
  • enforce departmental policies regarding hygiene, health, safety, and sanitation
  • ensure patrons and staff conduct themselves appropriately through regular walk-throughs and reporting incidents
  • maintain cleanliness and overall appearance of facilities, notify maintenance as needed
  • maintain inventory and request necessary supplies
  • close unsafe areas of the facility
  • manage patron and participant complaints and refer unresolved issues
  • assist in planning and implementation of facility programs and events
  • manage financial documentation and basic clerical work
  • assist in recruitment, training, and retention of staff
  • operate equipment and city vehicles safely
  • fill in for employees as required
  • participate in citywide special events
