Job Requirements
- Two years of high school required
- None required experience
- May be required to obtain or maintain basic life support certification
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Assignments that use chemicals or power tools require intern to be at least 18 years of age
- Good interpersonal, organizational, communication, and listening skills
- Manual dexterity and visual perception
- Job requires good hearing, clear understandable speech, and good finger dexterity

Job Duties
- Work under the supervision of a department leader or designee to complete assigned duties
- Assist with operational, administrative or professional tasks aligned with department needs and the intern's academic program
- Observe, document, and communicate work progress, findings, or issues to the supervising leader or team
- Interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization using appropriate communication methods
- Participate in staff meetings, project meetings, and interdisciplinary discussions as requested
- Proactively seek out learning opportunities, manage time effectively, and appropriately prioritize assignments
- Follow all organizational policies, procedures, ethical standards, and confidentiality requirements
- Receive and greet patients and visitors
- Answer calls made to the nursing department and direct inquiries appropriately
- Receive mail and distribute to personnel for processing
- Assist nursing staff with data entry as needed
