Food for Lane County (FFLC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nutritious meals and food resources to individuals and families in the Lane County area, with a mission to combat hunger and promote food security in the community. Established with the goal of supporting vulnerable populations, FFLC collaborates with local partners, volunteers, and communities to deliver food assistance and promote healthy eating through various programs. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- current Oregon driver’s license with good driving record
- ability to drive a box truck
- able to obtain Food Handler’s card
- ability to perform strenuous and repetitive physical labor
- ability to safely lift 50 pounds repetitively
- ability to enter and exit vehicle repeatedly
- ability to work in warehouse settings involving lifting, bending, twisting, reaching, walking, carrying, pushing, and pulling carts
- excellent organizational and communication skills
- ability to provide excellent customer service
- ability to manage stress and flexibility
Job Qualifications
- Ability to drive a box truck
- current Oregon driver’s license with good driving record
- experience driving large trucks preferred
- able to obtain Food Handler’s card
- ability to perform strenuous and repetitive physical labor
- ability to safely lift 50 pounds repetitively
- excellent organizational and communication skills
- ability to provide excellent customer service to all participants and partners
- ability to manage stress, be flexible, and respond to unexpected changes
Job Duties
- Drive sprinter van to host sites at designated times and set up and distribute food bags
- coordinate ordering, inventory, storage, and distribution of bagged lunches
- maintain vehicle and food handling equipment in a safe and sanitary condition
- promptly report any vehicle maintenance issues to Operations Director
- train and supervise groups of volunteers
- complete required daily forms
- adhere to all applicable federal, state, and Oregon Food Bank regulations regarding food safety, storage, and handling
- maintain accurate and updated program files
- deliver program donations
- serve as a Site Supervisor when needed
- serve as a Site Monitor when needed
- assist with meal preparation as needed
- ability to work independently and in a team
- maintain a professional appearance, manner, and approach while on duty
- uphold FFLC’s values of compassion, inclusion, and collaboration
- perform other tasks as requested by supervisor
