Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum six months experience leading activities in a camp, school, or recreational program
  • Ability to work variable shifts and maintain on-call availability
  • Completion of First Aid and CPR training
  • Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening
  • Valid State of Florida Driver License may be required and ability to drive a city vehicle
  • Must adhere to all city and public health safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least six months of experience leading activities for the public in a camp, school, or recreational program
  • First Aid and CPR training
  • National Incident Management System (NIMS) training
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols
  • Valid State of Florida Driver License may be required

Job Duties

  • Plan, lead, and participate in arts and crafts and skill and character development activities
  • Facilitate a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children
  • Monitor health and safety of campers and administer first aid for minor injuries
  • Maintain clean and orderly play, supply, and storage areas
  • Assist with supervision of camper drop-off and pick-up
  • Plan and coordinate special events and off-site excursions
  • Create informational posters and fliers for programs and events
