Job Requirements
- successful completion of pre-employment Level 2 background check required
- must be available to attend mandatory trainings in May
- must be available for the majority of summer from May through August
- preferred availability Monday-Friday 9am-4pm
- ability to work outdoors for extended periods
- must comply with YMCA safety and conduct policies
Job Qualifications
- must be 16 years of age or older for counselor position
- must be 18 years of age or older for activity instructor position
- must be 21 years of age or older for senior counselor position
- prior childcare experience preferred
- experience as a counselor in youth programs such as CIT or Jr. counselor is preferred
- ability to lead groups and organize activities
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- provides direct supervision of campers
- leads group of camper activities
- develops curriculum in assigned area
- supports special events activities
- manages activity materials and schedules
- serves as resource and lead counselor for team members
- participates in program planning and administrative duties
