Job Requirements

- ability to fill in for various food service positions
- willingness to travel to multiple sites during the workday
- pass pre-employment physical ability testing
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of kitchen appliances and utensils
- understanding of sanitation and safety requirements in food preparation
- basic computer skills
- familiarity with kitchen operations
- ability to cook, bake, and prepare food in large quantities
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
Job Duties
- Prepare, assemble, and dispense meals
- perform routine cleaning tasks in cafeteria and related work
- set up counters, dishes, and silverware for lunches
- wash dishes, trays, pots, and pans
- clean counters, work area, equipment, and dispose of refuse
- prepare, cook, and bake main dishes
- monitor cafeteria student line
- estimate food quantities for preparation
- work point of sale during lunch service including money collection and checking free and reduced lunch lists
- follow recipe directions
- complete various record keeping functions
- support student workers as needed
- conduct taste testing with site staff for new food items
- participate in development of new food items
- conduct surveys with students and staff
- obtain feedback on new food items
- fill in for various positions as needed
- document product development process and stakeholder input
