Job Description

Job Requirements

  • Possession of a current food handler's permit or ability to obtain prior to hire
  • Ability to secure and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license or acceptable alternative transportation
  • Successful completion of a background check
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform various physical tasks
  • Availability for on-call work and occasional travel within service counties
  • Ability to interact respectfully with diverse populations
  • Willingness to follow agency policies and maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • One year of experience coordinating community programs or working with volunteers
  • Six months of food handling experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with seniors and volunteers
  • Competency in maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Bilingual skills for designated positions
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure successful operation of meal sites and home-delivered meal programs
  • Prepare and serve meals in compliance with health and sanitation standards
  • Coordinate and supervise volunteers at meal sites and during meal delivery
  • Collect and safeguard program income and perform necessary documentation
  • Provide social support and organize activities to meet participant needs
  • Conduct safety checks and maintain a clean, friendly environment
  • Participate in community outreach and promote agency nutrition services
