Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years of relevant education and/or experience
- Six months of food handling experience
- Possession or ability to obtain a current food handler's permit
- Valid Oregon driver's license
- Successful completion of a background check
- Commitment to regular attendance
- Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, handle, and lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to perform duties in moderate to loud environments
- Willingness to comply with all job-related instructions and policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in community service including supervising others
- Six months of food handling experience
- Ability to support agency mission, ethics, and core values
- Good interpersonal skills including listening and effective communication
- Knowledge of client confidentiality and mandatory reporting
- Ability to work independently and exercise initiative
- Basic technology skills including voicemail, email, word processing, and data entry
- Ability to interact effectively with elderly people and volunteers
- Ability to maintain accurate records and reports
- Arithmetic skills for financial transactions
- Familiarity with local elderly population and community resources
- Ability to represent agency professionally with high ethical standards
Job Duties
- Coordinate activities during the operation of the nutrition site
- Receive, hold and serve all foods following proper health and sanitation procedures
- Deliver meals to homebound clients as applicable
- Recruit, supervise, schedule, train and instruct volunteers to assist at the meal site
- Receive fees and donations, complete bank deposit slips, make deposits and record transactions
- Prepare monthly meal site records and send to supervisor
- Provide information regarding the program to community groups and organize outreach activities
