The Nutrition Services department is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join their team as Substitute Nutrition Site Coordinators. This part-time, on-call opportunity is designed for those who are passionate about serving the senior community and looking to make a positive impact through providing nutritious meals and quality service. This position covers multiple senior meal sites located in Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Clatsop, and Tillamook counties, reflecting a broad and vital network of support for older adults. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum two years of combined education and community service experience
  • six months food handling experience
  • possession or ability to obtain a current food handler's permit
  • valid Oregon driver’s license
  • successful completion of a background check
  • commitment to regular attendance
  • ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, handle, grasp, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 30 pounds
  • occasional travel to deliver meals
  • ability to work under moderate to loud noise
  • capacity to handle interruptions
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • willingness to work with elderly and volunteers
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • two years of community service experience including supervising others
  • six months food handling experience
  • knowledge of confidentiality and mandatory reporting rules
  • ability to work independently and exercise initiative
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • basic technology skills including email and data entry
  • ability to maintain accurate records and reports
  • knowledge of health and sanitation procedures
  • ability to supervise volunteers and coordinate activities
  • familiarity with local elderly population and community resources
  • commitment to ethical conduct and agency mission

Job Duties

  • coordinate activities during meal site operations
  • receive, hold, and serve food following health and sanitation procedures
  • deliver meals to homebound clients as needed
  • recruit, supervise, schedule, train, and instruct volunteers
  • receive fees and donations, complete bank deposit slips, make deposits, and record transactions
  • prepare monthly meal site records and submit to supervisor
  • provide program information to community groups and organize outreach activities
  • plan and coordinate special events at the meal site
  • maintain and share information in accordance with privacy regulations
  • serve as a mandatory reporter of suspected abuse of vulnerable populations
